Meet the Coaches
The Saanich Peninsula Piranhas Swim Club, in partnership with Island Swimming, welcome our new coaches and welcome back our previous coaches to our coaching staff this 2011/2012 season!
Coach Kaela (Head Coach)
Hi, my name is Kaela Richardson and I am very excited for my first year with the Sidney Piranhas! Although new to the club, I have been coaching in the BCSSA for the past 5 summers, including two seasons as a head coach. I am a NCCP Level I certified coach and also the current BCSSA Provincial Coaches' Rep. My competitive swimming experience began at 7 years old when I joined my local winter club, and continued throughout university until I graduated in June and officially retired from competitive swimming. My coaching philosophy focuses on building a fun yet challenging team atmosphere that motivates my swimmers to work hard and achieve their goals. I look forward to meeting all of the Piranha parents and swimmers this season!

Coach Scott
Hi, my name is Scott Dagnall, and this will be my second year coaching with the Piranhas! I have been swimming with Island Swimming since the age of 8 and enjoyed swimming competitively and playing competitive water polo for a number of years, along with many other sports. I eventually pursued the sport of triathlon where my strong swimming background helped me. For the last five years, I have been a competitive triathlete and I am now training with the goal to make the National Team, as well as hopes of making the Olympic team. I have just started to get involved in coaching and really enjoy working with people. I am thoroughly enjoying my time coaching with the Piranhas and Island Swimming and look forward to continuing. I currently completed the Coaching Level 1 certification and plan to pursue further coaching courses to get more accreditation.
